The Edmonton Police Service Gang Suppression Team made an arrest last week after an investigation into drug trafficking.
Back in September the team began investigating into 40-year-old Randhir Gill, who they believed to be involved in drug trafficking.
The investigation led police to pull Gill over for a traffic stop on October 27. Police searched the vehicle to find over 40 kilograms of cocaine inside.
According to police, the street value of the cocaine is around $1,800,000.
Staff Sergeant Eric Stewart says that this is the biggest cocaine bust in EPS history and that it will undoubtedly make a dent in the suspects drug network.
Gill has been released from custody and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. He will appear in court on November 8.
