All of the holiday events going on this weekend

There are a ton of holiday events going on in the area this weekend.

Here is everything you need to know about this weekend’s holiday celebrations:

Fort Saskatchewan – Lights Up!

On Friday, the Fort Saskatchewan public library is hosting the annual Lights Up! event.

The event features caricature artists, pictures with Santa, Christmas Carolers, and ending off with the countdown of the lighting of the holiday lights outside City Hall.

There will also be a fire show, Indigenous drummers, a petting zoo, and even costumed characters like The Grinch and Auggie the sheep.

The event begins at 5:15 with the countdown at 7:30. You can read more about the event on the City of Fort Saskatchewan website.

Lamont – Lights Up! Holiday Market

On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be a holiday market going on at the Lamont High Gymnasium.

Saturday also features the Stuff-A-Bus event, free burgers, and even some fire truck rides.

Morinville – Lite Up the Nite

Morinville’s annual Christmas festival takes place all weekend long, starting on Friday and ending on Sunday.

The event features a dance party, a family festival, photos with Santa, and the main attraction – the Lite Up the Nite Parade and fireworks display, supported by MIX 107.9.

Edmonton – Winter Whyte Light Up

On Saturday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Dr. Wilbert Mcintyre Park, Old Strathcona’s favourite winter event is back.

Performers will be entertaining the public as local partners come out for giveaways to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season.

There are photo booths and story reading, and a ticketed drag show to end off the night.
