Edmonton police have rearrested and charged a high-risk sex offender on December 13 after a warrant for her arrest was issued.
EPS responded to a west-end hotel yesterday after receiving a tip about Laverne Waskahat’s whereabouts. Police issued a warrant for her arrest after Waskahat failed to report to her parole officer.
When police arrested her, they also located a baby crib, dozens of alleged pornographic drawings, and a laptop in her hotel room.
Waskahat is now facing charges of making child pornography and possession of child pornography and currently remains in custody.
Waskahat was released from custody the day before her arrest after serving time for a breach in conditions.
