One dead after crash on Highway 28

One person is dead after a crash on Highway 28 Thursday evening.

Just before 6:20 p.m., Redwater RCMP responded to reports of a crash between a semi-truck and a pickup truck. When officers arrived, they discovered the driver of the pickup truck was dead.

The driver of the pickup has been identified as a 37-year-old male resident of Beaumont, while the driver of the semi was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The RCMP continue to investigate into what caused the crash.
