Seven youth have been charged in connection to an assault at a McDonalds on St. Albert Trail.
According to police, on November 28 they received reports of the assault, with further calls reporting that weapons were involved. When police responded they found the suspect and arrest several suspects in the area.
The investigation revealed that the victim was assaulted and hit with a baton while having his property stolen from him. The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries and released that same day.
As for the suspects, several tried to run away from the police, but they were quickly arrested. Seven youth were charged in the assault.
Four of the youth were charged with robbery and obstruction, while two were charged with assault and obstruction, and one was charged with obstruction and assault with a weapon.
All of the youth were placed on conditions including not to enter that McDonald’s or to have contact with the victim. Some of the youth also received conditions against owning weapons.
The youth suspects will not be named due to their age, but the first court appearance of these suspects is on March 5.
