2024 Silver Skate festival moves location

The 2024 Silver Skate winter festival has a new location this year.

The festival, which began Friday morning, is usually held in Hawrelak Park, but the location was changed due to renovations. This year the festival is being held at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park.

Silver Skate is the longest-running winter festival in the city, and features skating, disc golf, sculptures, and other winter-related activities.

The event is free to attend and runs until February 19.

There is limited parking, but Edmonton Transit Service has two free shuttles to the park, one from the South Campus Transit Centre, and the other from Fort Edmonton Park.
