Strathcona County hosting free CPR crash course

A CPR/AED crash course is coming to Strathcona County later this week.

On Thursday (Feb. 15), Heart & Stroke’s CardiacCrash will be hosted at the Strathcona County Community Centre, with the course beginning at 7 p.m.

Cardiac arrest affects 35,000 Canadians every year, with less than 10 per cent of victims surviving. Cardiac arrest can affect everyone, from seniors to children.

This course teaches people how to recognize cardiac arrest, explaining the differences between cardiac arrest and a heart attack, and teaching people how to use an AED.

The course is less than an hour long and is open to everyone 13 years old and above.

Although the event is free, you’ll need to sign up to attend, which you can do so on the Strathcona County website here.
