Evansburg RCMP arrested an Edmonton man in Parkland County after he ran from police.
On Tuesday (Feb. 13) police were conducting patrols in the county when they found a vehicle committing several traffic violations.
When police tried to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle fled into oncoming traffic.
With help from Whitecourt RCMP and Mayerthorpe RCMP, the suspect vehicle was tracked down and stopped using tire spikes. Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 30-year-old Christopher Taylor, a resident of Edmonton. Police laid a slew of charges on Taylor, including:
- Flight from police
- Operation of vehicle while prohibited
- Fail to comply with release order (X3)
- Being in possession of body armour without permit
- Forcible confinement
- Operate motor vehicle without registration and insurance
Taylor was placed in custody and will be appearing at a Stoney Plain court on February 21. As for the passenger of the vehicle, they were not charged and released from custody.
