Leduc man arrested following heavy police presence

Leduc RCMP arrested a man following a heavy police presence in the city last week.

On Tuesday police sent out a release advising the public about a heavy police presence in the Southfork neighbourhood, and they were asking residents to avoid the area.

In an update the following Monday, police confirmed that their presence was due to them executing a search warrant. During the raid, police recovered a stolen and re-vinned 2023 Dodge Ram 3500.

The RCMP also arrested 40-year-old Inderjeet Uppal and charged him with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (x2)
  • Forged documents (x2)
  • Fraudulent concealment

Uppal has been released from custody as his court date is scheduled for May.

Leduc RCMP were assisted by the RCMP Emergency Response Team, and the Integrated Gang Enforcement Team during the execution of the search warrant.
