Sturgeon County firefighters save cat from falling in ice

Firefighters in Sturgeon County made a daring rescue on Monday as they saved an injured cat from falling in an icy lake.

Sturgeon County Emergency Services received the call about the cat before sending out firefighters from both Namao and Bon Accord to take care of the cat.

Both firefighters donned ice rescue equipment before making their way onto the ice, eventually saving the cat.

Although the cat was injured, the firefighters managed to take the cat to the Second Chance Animal Rescue Society in Morinville for medical care.

Photos of the rescue were posted to the Sturgeon County Facebook page, praising the firefighters for their work.
