Trade Show and Market returning to Fort Saskatchewan

This weekend, the Fort Saskatchewan & District Chamber of Commerce will be putting on their annual trade show and market.

The trade show will feature both new and old attractions, including family entertainment, a brand-new farmers’ market, and the famous money tunnel.

“It’s for anyone to come, shop, and learn about businesses and organizations, and chat with people at the market,” said Marcie Mazurenko, executive director of the chamber. “This is more of a community event for the public to enjoy and something for everybody to do.”

This year will also mark the first ever year that the trade show has featured an official farmers’ market, featuring many of the vendors seen at the summer farmers’ market in downtown Fort Saskatchewan.

“Basically, our farmers’ market focuses on things that are made, baked, and grown in our community and the surrounding area,” added Mazurenko.

Another new addition to the trade show is the free admission, with years prior charging a door fee. This will be the first ever year that the event is free to attend.

There will also be an appearance from Enterprising Minds, a group of students from Fort Saskatchewan High School that focus on entrepreneurism. They will be selling goods that they have made at the farmers’ market section.

“At the Chamber of Commerce, our job is to support local business,” said Mazurenko.

Due to a drop in attendance following COVID-19 lockdowns, the trade show has now been downgraded to a single floor at the Dow Centennial Centre.

The trade show runs:

  • Friday (April 19) from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday (April 20) 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday (April 21) 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
