Man charged in Edmonton homicide

Edmonton police have charged a man with murder following a death earlier this earlier.

On the evening of May 9, police responded to a disturbance in the area of 108A Avenue and 98 Street, with reports claiming that a large group of people were fighting in a nearby parking lot.

When police arrived they discovered 39-year-old Joshua Cardinal suffering from life threatening injuries. Paramedics took Cardinal to hospital, where he died from his injuries.

An autopsy performed on Monday determined that Cardinal had died from multiple stab wounds, with the manner of death being a homicide.

Police arrested 34-year-old Brad Alook and charged him with second degree murder.

Whether Alook remains in custody, or when his court date is, was not released.
