Teen Flash Fiction contest comes with $100 grand prize

A flash fiction workshop for teenagers is coming to the Strathcona County Library on Thursday at noon.

This workshop also features a contest, with a $100 gift card being awarded to the first-place winner by Writer in Residence Katie Bickell.

Bickell’s first novel “Always Brave, Sometimes Kind” was the winner of the Indie Project Award and the Georges Bugnet Award. She also teaches creative writing courses and offers manuscript consultations.

Bickell is hosting the workshop, with each attendee leaving the event with a completed flash fiction story and a list of flash fiction markets open for publication.

Registration is open on the Strathcona County Library website, with lunch being provided for all attendees, as the event runs until 3 p.m.
