A film honouring Canadian veterans had such a popular premiere that a new showing has been announced.
”Fallen Heroes” ran on April 17 at St. Albert’s Landmark Cinema, with the film following stories of courage and sacrifice to shine a light on Canada’s impact in Afghanistan.
“The event was sold out and we couldn’t have done it without your support! We are grateful to all of you for contributing to a very special night,” said Karen Storwick, who helped produce the film.
After high demand for the film to return, an additional screening has been booked at the same cinema on May 29, with this night lacking the grandeur of the premiere.
“This will be a regular movie night, no party, no dress code, just the film,” added Storwick.
Several scenes had been shot in Sturgeon County, with Highway 28 serving as a recreation for the Toronto 401, which famously carries fallen Canadian soldiers from CFB Trenton.
There will also be a cross-country roll-out of the film coming on September 11, with film posters even available on the Combined Forces website.
The film may trigger some people, with peer support being available at the May 29 screening in St. Albert. Tickets for the screening are available on Eventbrite, with tickets costing $25 each.
