Vehicle-pedestrian collision claims one life

A man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle east of Sherwood Park Thursday night.

Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian near the intersection of Wye Road and Range Road 221.  The vehicle was travelling eastbound on Wye Road when the collision occurred.

The pedestrian, a 31-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police continue to investigate.
