$15M in funding from Alberta Government at projects that will aim to reduce methane emissions

The Government of Alberta is committing $15 million towards testing new technologies aimed at reducing methane emissions, particularly from the oil and gas sector, which has already achieved a 45 percent reduction in emissions.

Over 70 companies have participated in testing projects thus far, highlighting widespread industry engagement. Previously, the facility lacked long-term funding, but with this new investment, the Accelerator’s Emissions Testing Centre is set to expand its scope over the next five years.
