A man is facing multiple impaired driving-related charges after rear-ending a motorcycle near Fort Saskatchewan.
The RCMP responded to the crash on the bridge over the North Saskatchewan River at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday night.
The motorcycle was struck from behind, causing the driver and passenger—a father and his daughter—to be thrown off as the vehicle continued dragging the motorcycle for about a kilometer to Highway 21.
The father and daughter were transported to the hospital in serious condition.
RCMP located the truck that had fled the scene and arrested the driver.
Brett Daniel Conrad, 27 years old from Fort Saskatchewan, is charged with 11 offenses, including two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm, two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, failing to render assistance after an accident, and uttering threats.
