Police across Canada respond to coordinated bomb threats targeting Jewish institutions

Police across Canada are actively responding to bomb threats sent to Jewish organizations, synagogues, and some hospitals this morning. Over 100 Jewish institutions received the same threatening email, which included threats of explosions at their offices in Toronto and Montreal.

In Ottawa, police are on-site at several hospitals, and the RCMP will lead the investigation into the threats. At Queensway Carleton Hospital, authorities have stated that while the threat is considered low risk, the grounds have been thoroughly swept as a precaution.

Authorities are treating these incidents as hate crimes and are taking immediate, decisive action to ensure the safety of the public and to investigate the source of the threats.
