EPS are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying five suspects involved in a violent assault and robbery that occurred in central Edmonton earlier this week.
On the evening of Sunday, August 25, around 10:15 p.m., officers from the Downtown Branch responded to an emergency call near the intersection of 100 Street and 102 Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered a man who had been pepper-sprayed and robbed of his wallet by five male suspects, all of whom were on bicycles. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he received treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The first suspect to approach the victim was riding a bicycle with a distinctive white frame. He was described as wearing a black baseball hat and mask, along with a black hoodie and black pants featuring a white stripe down the sides. The other four suspects were similarly dressed in dark clothing and masks.
The suspects fled the scene in a northeast direction. EPS believes there is no prior connection between the victim and the assailants.
