The City of Edmonton will activate its extreme weather response beginning tomorrow as temperatures are expected to climb to 30 degrees Celsius over the next few days.
The response includes 24-hour access to drinking water at bottle-filling stations attached to fire hydrants across the city. Additionally, the city is providing water bottles to vulnerable populations and has opened indoor facilities, such as libraries and recreation centres, to the public.
Officials have indicated that the extreme weather response will be extended if hot conditions persist.
