Cyclist injured in collision with Valley Line southeast train

A 49-year-old cyclist was injured in a collision with the Valley Line Southeast train near the Bonnie Doon stop earlier this morning.

According to the Edmonton Police Service, the man was riding west against a red light when he struck the driver’s side of the LRT, which was traveling south. The incident occurred at 83 Street and 82 Avenue at approximately 5:35 a.m.

The cyclist was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
