An initial toxicology report for former One Direction singer Liam Payne, who died last week after falling from a third-story hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, revealed traces of cocaine in his system.
While the final toxicology results are not expected to be released for some time, the early findings indicate exposure to the drug. An Argentinian official emphasized that the initial results do not provide a precise measurement of how much cocaine was in Payne’s bloodstream at the time of his death.
Argentina’s Public Prosecution Office is currently investigating the incident. Payne’s autopsy confirmed that the traumatic injuries leading to his death were consistent with a fall from the hotel window. Authorities have ruled out any involvement from other individuals.
