Events for Remembrance Day in and around Edmonton

The Loyal Edmonton Regiment will host a Remembrance Day ceremony at City Hall on Monday, November 11, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. to honour veterans and those who sacrificed for Canada.

An outdoor procession and wreath-laying will follow the ceremony.

Guests can also watch the ceremony at Sir Winston Churchill Square.

Several Edmonton landmarks will be lit in red in remembrance.

The Loyal Edmonton Regiment Military Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with activities for all ages.

Fort Saskachewan

In Fort Saskatchewan, there will be an Outdoor Ceremony that will start off with a parade starting at 10:45 A.M. After, there will be an indoor ceremony in the Normandy Room in the Community Hall.

The Legion will host an open house for the rest of the day. It will include a Silent Auction. Lunch will be served, by donation.

St. Albert

The Remembrance Day parade in St. Albert will begin at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Taché Street, across from the St. Albert Royal Canadian Legion. The parade will proceed along the St. Anne Promenade to St. Anne Street, ending at the Cenotaph. The annual service will start at 11 a.m. on November 11 at the Cenotaph.

Sherwood Park/ Strathcona County

Join the community on November 11, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. MST at Millennium Place, located at 2000 Premier Way in Sherwood Park.

Guests are asked to be seated by 10:30 a.m. in the fieldhouse. The ceremony will also be broadcast live for those who prefer to stay home.

Program:

  • 10:30 a.m. – Program begins with preamble, parade march-in, and preparation for 2 minutes of silence.
  • 11:00 a.m. – 2 minutes of silence followed by a reflection program, wreath laying, and march past.
  • 12:00 p.m. – Conclusion
