Rod Frank, the mayor of Sherwood Park, has just launched his campaign to be elected for a third term. Although the election isn’t till October of this year, Frank wanted to jump on the opportunity early. He believes there’s a lot of work to still be done in the city. He also thinks with all the uncertainty around the political instability, he can stay headstrong in his community. He is the only mayoral candidate to run thus far. Frank takes a lot of pride in Sherwood Park and in his accomplishments, stating it was one of the few governments that received tax cuts this year. He is proud that Sherwood Park is one of the safest communities in Alberta and how investing in local emergency services was crucial for residents.
In the coming term, Frank wants to focus a lot on supporting agriculture and industry. He also wants to focus support on the growth of commercial and residential development. From now till the election, Frank intends on maintaining the tax rate, as well as ensuring larger capital builds are moving forward.
