Strathcona County is named one of the Province’s Top 85 Employers

Once a year, there is a province-wide competition to determine the Top 100 Employers in Alberta. Employers are chosen based on how they “lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces and the most progressive and forward-thinking programs,” according to the County. Sherwood Park is in the top 85 Employers Province-wide.

Mayor Rod Frank is proud of this achievement stating “Our employees are the backbone of our community, and their dedication and passion are what make Strathcona County a great place to live and work.”

Employers are judged in multiple facets of the company including:

  • Workplace
  • Work atmosphere and social constructs
  • Health, family, and financial benefits
  • Vacation and time off
  • Employee communications
  • Performance management
  • Training and skills development
  • Community involvement

Darrell Reid, Chief Administrative Officer says this title is an important milestone for the County. “Being named one of Alberta’s Top 85 Employers is a significant milestone for Strathcona County. It reflects our ongoing efforts to create an environment where employees feel valued, supported and inspired to contribute their best. This honour not only highlights our current successes but also sets a strong foundation for our future goals, including our vision of becoming Canada’s most livable community and a top employer.”
