Alberta’s human sized groundhog Balzac Billy popped out of his burrow on Sunday and predicted an early Spring. He spun around, unsuccessfully trying to find his shadow and pulled out a bouquet predicting which signifies a shorter Winter. Both last year and in 2022 Billy predicted another six weeks of Winter.
Ontario’s groundhog also predicted an early Spring, whereas Nova Scotia’s and Quebec’s groundhogs predicted six more weeks of Winter. According to groundhogday.com there is a 57 per cent chance of Spring coming early this year.
