Movie Under the Stars hosts free Jumanji showing to hundreds

This year’s Movie Under the Stars was a huge success.

The event was on Friday (Sep. 15) in Legacy Park, where a free showing of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was played for hundreds of residents.

Arthur Lewandowski, community events and tourism specialist with the city, said that the event was originally planned back in August.

“We decided to postpone it due to very poor weather. It was forecasted to be rainy, cold, and windy, which it did end up being that day,” said Lewandowski. “We postponed it to Friday where he was optimal weather. It was absolutely beautiful, and hence why I think lots of people came out to event.”

In total, the city saw a turnout of around 350 people at the event, which also featured a scavenger hunt and a prize giveaway, which included a real copy of the board game.

“It’s a good community event and certainly a unique one,” added Lewandowski. “To continue to provide our residents with an opportunity to experience something different is always a great thing.”

The city will be hosting the event again next year, with the next movie expected to be announced in the summer.
