EPS investigating fatal collision

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) are investigating a fatal crash that involved a pedestrian.

The crash happened on Tuesday (Oct. 3) morning just before 6:30 a.m. According to police, they were called to reports of a serious collision between a pedestrian and a pickup truck.

It was reported that an adult male was walking westbound across 17 Street and 19 Avenue when he was struck by a Ford F350 travelling northbound.

EMS responded, treating the 71-year-old pedestrian. However, the man died from his injuries on scene. The driver of the truck, a 57-year-old man, was not injured.

EPS Major Collision Investigations Section continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
