Edmonton man sentenced to prison for making child porn

An Edmonton man is facing prison time after being convicted for making and owning child pornography.

Nicholas Baglole-Gaudet is a 28-year-old Edmonton man who owned an unlicensed day home in the city where he looked after kids between the ages of two and 11.

According to police, he had made child porn of three young boys that he cared for at his day home.

His romantic partner had discovered the material and turned his laptop over to police, and a forensic investigator found more than 2,000 images and videos on his computer.

At first police just charged Baglole-Gaudet with possessing child pornography, but after images of boys in his care were discovered, he was also charged with making child porn.

Baglole pleaded guilty, admitting that the children he took photographs of were all under the age of nine.

Court of King’s Bench Justice Susan Richardson sentenced Baglole-Gaudet to three years in prison for making child porn, and a consecutive 15-month sentence for possessing child porn.

Baglole-Gaudet will also be required to register as a sex offender, and for 20 years after his prison sentence he will not be allowed in playgrounds, public swimming areas, or being employed in a position of authority over anyone under 16.
