Canadian broadcast legend arrives at MIX 107.9

We’ve got a new voice hitting the airwaves on MIX 107.9 – Canadian broadcast legend Rob Christie.

Christie will be hosting the morning show from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. after returning from several years of retirement.

“When you’ve been in radio as long as I have, it’s a part of your reason for being. It’s your happy place,” said Christie.

“You just love talking to people, entertaining them, informing them, and having fun with them.

“I’m really grateful for this opportunity.”

Christie is an award-winning broadcaster, winning Best Comedy/Humour Morning Show at the New York Festivals International Radio Awards. He’s also had a record of hosting highly rated morning shows in Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal.

You may recognize Christie’s voice as he has appeared in many stations throughout Edmonton, including 630 CHED, Power 92, Magic 99, and 96.3 Capital FM.

Christie hopes to use his position to uplift in his corner.

“There’s such strife and conflict with the war in Ukraine and now this terrible thing going on in Israel,” he said.

“There’s a real need for this music now, because it’s joyful and it reminds us of what’s really important in our lives.”

Rob Christie mornings debuts on MIX 107.9 on November 1, after a brief on-air welcome the previous afternoon.
