Twice But Nice presents cheque to Furniture Bank

Twice But Nice presented a cheque to the Fort Saskatchewan Furniture Bank earlier today.

At noon, members from both organizations met at Fort Saskatchewan’s Nourishment Centre for the presentation.

Barb Larson with the Furniture Bank said they got the money through a grant, which they will be using towards package boxes.

“We have all these boxes together that have all the kitchen stuff in it. Like utensils, tea towels, dishcloths, and stuff like that,” said Larson. “We also have a bathroom one we put together will towels and shower curtain rings.”

These packages are designed to make it easier for people to get the items they need in a quick and efficient way.

The Furniture Bank says all $2,500 of the grant money will be going towards filling up these packages.

Although most of their items are donated, this gives them the opportunity to purchase items in case they’re running low.

The Furniture Bank operates through furniture and cash donations provided by the community. If you’d like to donate to the Furniture Bank, or if you’re in need of furniture yourself, you can reach out to the Furniture Bank on their Facebook page.
