Mounties ID Derek Westling, 37, as Ponoka, Alta Homicide Victim; Release Images of Suspect’s Truck

The Alberta RCMP have identified a man killed in Ponoka, Alta, South of Edmonton, as 37-year-old Derek Westling. Police found his body on November 10 in his home on 57 Avenue, Ponoka, and are investigating his death as a homicide.

In a news release, police said, “there is no information to suggest there is a risk to the general public at this time.”

Police have released images of the suspects truck. The Ponoka RCMP detachment would like to speak with anyone with information pertaining to this crime. Call 403-782-4472 or Crime Stoppers.
