On December 6, police were called to the area of 18 Avenue and 32 Street to check on a welfare of a woman.

When officers knocked on the door, there was no answer. Believing that there was imminent risk of self-harm to the woman, police entered the suite.

Officers and paramedics tried life saving measures, but the woman died of her injuries. No EPS members were harmed during the incident.

According to police, an imitation firearm was found at the scene.
