Man arrested for drug possession after getting caught with stolen license plate during car crash

Leduc RCMP have arrested a man after discovering a stolen license plate while responding to a car crash.

On November 29, police responded to a rear end collision on Highway 39 easy of Range Road 254. As police were investigating the collision, an officer noticed a stolen license plate inside one of the vehicles.

Police arrested the driver, 34-year-old Dallas Goodrunning, a resident of Rocky Mountain House. After searching his vehicle, police allegedly discovered:

  • 98 grams of methamphetamine
  • 5.79 grams of cocaine
  • Drug packaging materials
  • Small quantity of ammunition
  • Stolen license plate

Police arrested Goodrunning and charged him with the following:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000.
  • Obstruct a peace officer
  • Operation while prohibited

Goodrunning is also facing four other charges under the Traffic Safety Act. He has been released from custody and is expected to appear in a Leduc court on December 21.
