EPS investigating suspicious death

Edmonton police are looking into a suspicious death that happened downtown on Friday morning.

Just after 2 a.m., police responded to a weapons complaint near 107 Avenue and 104 Street. When officers arrived, they found a man in medical distress and began to provide first aid.

However, EMS arrived shortly after and pronounced the man dead at the scene.

The victim has not been identified at this time, but an autopsy is scheduled for December 27. EPS’ Homicide Section is now investigating.
