High speed chases closes down Highway 15 for several hours

A police chase down Highway 15 on Sunday evening ended in Lamont, according to Fort Saskatchewan RCMP.

According to police, the chase began in Fort Saskatchewan as police responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle at around 8:30 p.m.

The chase involved assistance from the Sherwood Park and Vegreville RCMP detachments, with bystanders saying that they saw guns drawn when the chase ended near 50 Street in Lamont.

No injuries were reported in the incident, and details on the arrest are not known at this time. However, police did have the scene cleared after several hours.
