Edmonton City Hall Shooter identified and charged

The man who fired a gun in Edmonton’s City Hall is facing a series of charges.

At around 10:18 a.m. on Tuesday, a man parked his vehicle at City Hall’s underground parkade before entering the building through the parkade access.

Once the man was inside City Hall, he set off several incendiary devices believed to be Molotov cocktails. The devices led to one small fire outside of an elevator.

The man then dropped his weapon on the floor and surrendered to City Hall security, who held him until police arrived.

  • Use/place/throw explosive substance
  • Arson to property
