Strathcona County celebrates local art with two months of celebrations

Strathcona County is hosting a two-month long celebration to showcase the talent of the county’s art community.

“In response to ongoing conversations with artists and colleagues, a decision was made to rebrand the Strathcona Salon exhibition to Strathcona Contemporary,” said Kelly Andres, public art curator with the county. “As a result, we are moving from one event to a series of five events focused on networking, community, artists and professional development. These events are free and open to all.”

The events begin in April with an opening reception at Gallery@501, and over the months there will be an artist workshop, a youth gallery celebration, a professional development session, and a closing celebration.

The events offer the opportunities for artists to connect with their peers, inspire others, and engage with the community. All creators are welcome to join the event.

Gallery@501 is also accepting submissions from February 5 to April 15. You can find more information on the gallery by visiting the Strathcona County website here.
