Honda recalls over 66,000 vehicles in Canada

Honda has announced a recall on over 66,000 vehicles throughout the country.

This recall is due to issues with the front passenger airbag sensors, which could lead to the front passenger airbag being deployed in an accident when it shouldn’t.

This creates a risk of injury for any infant or child who may be in the front seat, but according to Honda, around one per cent of the vehicles in the recall have this defect.

Models affected include the Accord, Civic, CR-V, HR-V, Fit, Insight, Odyssey, and Ridgeline. Several Acura models are also affected, including the MDX, TLX, and RDX. All affected vehicles have model years between 2020 and 2022.

Owners of the affected vehicles will be notified in March about the issue. Honda asks that if the SRS warning light comes on, owners need to take the vehicle to the nearest Honda or Acura dealership for a free replacement.

You can check it your vehicle is affected by visiting the Honda recall page here, or the Acura recall page here.
