Elk Island Public Schools offer outreach program with Next Step

Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) have an alternative choice for education with the outreach program through Next Step.

Next Step is available for students grades 8 through 12, and operates in Sherwood Park, Vegreville, and Fort Saskatchewan.

“Attending Next Step has been a positive experience for me,” said Daniella Figliuzzi, a Grade 12 student at Next Step. “In this environment, I’ve found a community that embraces diverse learning styles and recognizes that education isn’t one-size-fits-all.”

Figliuzzi was also the winner of the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Student Award.

“This program has not only expanded my academic limits but also bolstered my confidence in my ability to succeed in non-traditional ways.”

Next Step is a supportive and comfortable environment for students who require an individualized program. There are several ways to attend Next Step:

  • As a full-time student.
  • As a recent graduate from an EIPS senior high school.
  • As a student currently registered at any EIPS senior high school.

Next Step Sherwood Park also offers a summer school program for grades 9 through 12 students, and a junior high program for students in grades 8 and 9.
