Leduc RCMP respond to several morning crashes

Police in Leduc responded to two separate crashes on Thursday (Feb. 22) morning.

The first crash was at the intersection of Nisku Spine Road and 35 Avenue just before 6 a.m., where it was reported a Volkswagen Rabbit turned into the path of a Lexus.

The driver of the Lexus was taken to hospital with unknown injuries, while the driver of the Volkswagen is in serious condition.

The other crash was in the area of Highway 2A and Township Road 492, which caused traffic to be reduced to one lane in both directions as emergency crews respond.

Motorists have been asked to take alternate routes, with details on injuries or number of vehicles involved not being known at this time.

An update for the highway crash is anticipated.
