Sherwood Park Elks give away graduation gowns and suits for students

The Sherwood Park Elks Gowns for Grads and Suits for Guys campaign will be running over the next few weeks.

This campaign serves to provide both junior high and high school graduates with free formal wear for their graduation ceremonies. They run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursdays, until April 13. The campaign is located at Unit 104 160 Broadway Boulevard.

The Elks will also be in Edmonton at the Castledowns YMCA for a pop-up event on March 9 and 10, starting at 10 a.m. and running until 3 p.m.

On average the Elks give away about 100 gowns and 30 suits every year, but this year they’re expecting to give away more due to inflation and other factors. They accept donations year-round as well, from both individuals and bridal shops.

The Sherwood Park Elks are a charitable organization that’s always looking for volunteers. You can learn more about volunteering for the Elks by visiting their Facebook page.
