Leduc RCMP issue warrant for suspect in stolen truck

Police in Leduc have placed a warrant for the arrest of 35-year-old John Connoy following reports of a suspicious vehicle earlier this month.

Police were responding to the report, which was made on February 13 at around 7:40 p.m. near 8410 43 Street in Leduc County, when they got another report of the suspect vehicle fleeing the parking lot.

An officer then arrived at the scene and located the suspect truck where they pulled the vehicle over. However, the vehicle fled from police and was eventually located later, abandoned in a nearby parking lot.

Police began looking into the vehicle and soon discovered that it was stolen. The license plate attached to the vehicle was also stolen.

Connoy has since been charged with the following:

  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000 x2
  • Possession of stolen property over $5,000 x3
  • Operation of motor vehicle while prohibited x3
  • Failure to stop after accident
  • Uttering threats to property
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Dangerous operation of motor vehicle
  • Flight from police

However, police have not located Connoy, which has led to the warrant being obtained. Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of John Connoy to contact Leduc RCMP at 780-980-7267.
