Life in The Heartland hosting annual Spring Info Eve open house

Life in the Heartland is hosting a free open house later this week.

This event, hosted at the Gibbons Community Cultural Centre, gives residents the opportunity to speak with industry companies. The event is on Wednesday, with doors to the event opening at around 5 p.m.

“We bring out industry companies to the community to meet and share information with residents,” said Sheena Fitzpatrick, community engagement director with Life at The Heartland. “They’ll be able to visit with companies at their booths before a formal program starts at 6.”

The program will be hosted by Fitzpatrick and will feature speakers from three different companies giving an update to the community. The program is expected to last about an hour.

“After the formal presentations are done, everyone is welcome to go back to visiting with the companies at their booths. They can then go up to the representatives that just gave presentations and ask follow-up questions,” added Fitzpatrick.

Although the event is free to attend, it’s recommended that you register ahead of time on the Life in The Heartland website.

“What Life in The Heartland strives to do is connect the community with industry, provide resources, and be their one stop shop for industry information, education, and resources,” said Fitzpatrick. “We are happy to facilitate that connection so that residents feel informed about what’s going on.”

Life in The Heartland also features a Fall Info Eve event, occasional industry webinars, and even a podcast that explores topics such as the circular economy of plastics.

You can learn more about these events on the Life in The Heartland website.
