Motorcycle rider dead after crash on Highway 16

A man is dead following a crash on Highway 16 over the weekend.

The crash was on Saturday evening at around 6:41 at the intersection of Highway 21 just outside of Sherwood Park. Strathcona County RCMP were redirecting traffic as emergency crews responded.

After almost four hours police confirmed that the road had been cleared, confirming that one person had died in the crash.

This person was a man on a motorcycle, with police claiming that the man had lost control of his bike before flipping it.

The RCMP extended their condolences to the man’s family and friends as they continue to investigate the crash.
