Strathcona County police issue shelter in place due to firearms complaint

Strathcona County RCMP issued a shelter in place on Monday morning.

This came as police are currently investigating a firearms complaint between Range Road 222 and Range Road 223 north of Highway 16, to Township Road 532.

Police were asking residents to stay in their homes and avoid the area while refraining from posting police activity to social media.

However, the shelter in place was lifted about 15 minutes after being issued, with police confirming that a man had been taken into custody.

An update will be released once more information is provided.
