Fort McMurray neighbourhoods issued 2-hour evacuation notice

Certain Fort McMurray neighbourhoods have been issued a two-hour evacuation notice on Tuesday afternoon.

This notice applies to the neighbourhoods of Prairie Creek, Abasand, Grayling Terrace, Beacon Hill, with residents being asked to prepare to leave within two hours.

According to officials, a nearby fire dubbed MWF-017 has been approaching the city, with the fire about 13 kilometres away from the Fort McMurray landfill.

Although Highway 63 remains open, officials say that police would be monitoring the wildfire and will give an update when needed.
