Scotiabank outage on pay day

Scotia Bank is grappling with a significant outage today, impacting many customers on payday. As of 9:30 a.m. ET, Down Detector has logged over 1,800 user-submitted outage reports related to the bank’s services.

The reported issues are affecting both online banking and mobile login, with 11 percent of the reports specifically highlighting problems with mobile banking. The outage appears to be widespread, with Down Detector’s heat map showing concentrated reports in major cities across Canada, including Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, the Atlantic region, and the Prairies.

Scotia Bank has not yet provided an estimate for when services will be fully restored. Customers are advised to monitor the bank’s website and social media channels for updates.
