Three people have been charged in connection to the death of Liam Payne, the former One Direction singer who died after falling off a three story hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, earlier last month.
Prosecutors said that 3 individuals, whose identities have not been released, have been charged abandonment of a person followed by death” and “supplying and facilitating the use of narcotics,”. One of them was often with Payne during his time in Buenos Aires, the second, is a hotel staffer who allegedly gave him cocaine and the third person is a drug dealer.
Payne’s autopsy revealed that he died from injuries and external bleeding. His toxicology exams showed he had traces of alcohol, cocaine and prescribed anti-depressants in his system, moments before his death.
Authorities have gathered pieces of evidence like the singer’s cell phone records, material for forensics and testimonies. They have not yet unlocked his personal computer, that is damaged, or other devices that were seized.
Argentine prosecutors have ruled out the chances that Liam Payne committed suicide.
