Strathcona County RCMP are investigating a stabbing that took place in a Sherwood Park residence on Nov. 10.
Upon receiving the report, officers arrived at the home to find a victim who had been stabbed and required medical assistance. The individual was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested the suspect, identified as Kyla Dawn Huffman, 32, of Calgary. Huffman, a relative of the victim, has been charged with assault with a weapon. She has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 11.
The Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section with the assistance of the RCMP Forensic identification Section are continuing to investigate this incident.
